A tourist guide, licensed by the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture, plays a vital role in tourism operation management. This profession is both exciting and challenging, enabling graduates to work as tour leaders or manage their own inbound tour businesses. According to Dewan Rakyat, on Friday 11 June 2004, 'Ministry of Tourism and Culture Tourist Guides can earn between RM6,000 and RM10,000 a month or RM15,000 during peak season.'
Today, tourism professionals in the field can earn an average of RM7K – RM13K a month during peak season. This course is particularly popular among working adults and retirees who are interested in travel management.
Travex Institute of Tourism (sister co) has been awarded the 5-STAR JPK Award 2013 and is recognized as MALAYSIA 'NO. 1' in tourist guide training.
Entry requirements include:
i. SPM/SPVM/UEC/MCE/ GCE 'O' Level (6 subjects passes including BM).
ii. Diploma or Degree (Certified by MOE).
